Scripted by Neil Richardson and Anita Walker, this classic tale is being staged by the Wellingborough Pantomime Society at The Castle in Wellingborough.

The cast will be about 45-strong, including local children, who have been called in to take part in the fun and theaction.

The traditional story starts with a chance to hiss and boo at the baddie who is challenged by the fairy.

She will help Jack as he bids to win the battle and destroy the giant.

As well as some tap dancing by Jack’s trusty cow, Buttercup, there is also a little romance on the cards between the prince and princess.

Central to all the action is the magical growing beanstalk.
