The much-loved classic, The Railway Children, will be performed by The Playhouse Theatre company next week.
Edith Nesbit’s book, set in the early 20th century, tells the story of a family who move to Three Chimneys, a house near a railway.
As the tale goes, the children’s father, who works for the Foreign Office, is imprisoned for reportedly selling state secrets.
While living at Three Chimneys, the children – Roberta, Peter and Phyllis – make contact with someone who is eventually able to help prove their father has been wrongly accused.
The play will run at the Playhouse Theatre in Clare Street, Northampton from Monday, December 3 until Saturday, December 8.
Tickets cost £8 or £6.50 for concessions. To book, or for more information, call 01604 627791.
