There is a chance to get involved in theatre and live performance as part of a festival at the Royal & Derngate Theatres in Northampton.
The Fun Palaces festival and open day takes place on Saturday, October 4.
There will be workshops and live performances that people can take part in around the building.
People can visit the wardrobe department and dress up, make masks and learn Chinese paper cutting.
Workshops will also cover poetry, dance and singing and people will be able to find out about stage lighting, storytelling, comedy, theatre and music.
There is also an exhibition about pantomime.
The event is taking place as part of the Fun Palaces initiative which involves venues across the UK hosting events that bring together arts and sciences, children and adults. For more information about Fun Palaces visit www.funpalaces.co.uk.
The events and activities at Royal & Derngate are suitable for all ages from 9.30am to 5pm, while from 5pm onwards events are aimed at adults, culminating in a theatre performance Apocalypse, starting at midnight.
Visitors can pick up a free day pass, then stay for an hour or all day long. The event is free. A festival schedule is on the theatre’s website at www.royalandderngate.co.uk/getinvolved/community/funpalace
