Comedians, magicians, dancers and singers will be among the broad range of entertainment being served up as part of the new season at The Core at Corby Cube.
Russell Howard, Jason Byrne, Jasper Carrott, Alistair McGown and Kettering born James Acaster will perform new material with shows in the autumn.
There is also a chance to see comedy magician Pete Firman and an evening with local celebrity Bernie Keith from BBC Radio Northampton.
Music highlights include legendary singer Tony Christie with his Golden Anniversary Tour, featuring some his greatest hits along with songs from his recent album The Great Irish Songbook.
Audiences will also be treated to the unique sound of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers who have become the most famous bagpipe band on the planet, with their ground-breaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock and pop anthems.
This Autumn’s drama programme includes a riveting new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic melodrama, Jekyll & Hyde, which comes to The Core for three days, with a backdrop of sumptuous sets and costumes.
For something completely different, a show based on the diaries of respected politician Tony Benn comes to The Core.
The critically-acclaimed new play Tony’s Last Tape examines the struggles of a man who realises that it is time to withdraw from the fight.
In the year that marks the 400 th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, The Core is delighted to see the return of Macbeth – Blood Will Have Blood, after sell-out performances last year.
Re-invented for 9 to 13 year olds, this one-man adaptation by The Core’s director Nick Walker is an accessible and unforgettable introduction to Shakespeare’s shocking story of ambition and greed.
Also being performed for four nights is a heart-warming new musical, Danny Hero, selected by a panel of local people and theatre professionals from ideas presented to the community as part of the Made in Corby initiative, takes to the Core stage in October, performed by a cast of local people.
Top dance company Motionhouse return with their extraordinary multi-media performance, Scattered. Professionals from Strictly Come Dancing Ian Waite and Camilla Dallerup bring a new show full of dance to The Core at Corby Cube.
There will also be plenty of children’s show including the stage adaptation of Stick Man and culminates at Christmas with The Core’s own production of the Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol taking place over the festive period.
