Audiences will have the chance to spend an evening with Des O’Connor this Saturday.

The live performer, multi-million record selling artist and comedian will perform at Wellingborough’s The Castle at 7.30pm.

The much-loved entertainer, who has just completed a season in a West End musical, was recently awarded the CBE for his services to entertainment and broadcasting.

He will appear on stage in his one man show, which promises to be full of laughter, song and music, and tales of his life in showbusiness.

Des entered the business with his first theatre appearances in variety all over the country before his break in television. Since his first television series in 1963 he has starred in or hosted his own mainstream television show every year for over 45 years.
In 2001 he received the Special Recognition Award at the National TV Awards and his top-selling autobiography Bananas Can’t Fly was published the same year.

In January Des completed a three-month season in the hit West End musical Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre, London.

Tickets are priced £22.50 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 01933 270 007 or at www.thecastle.org.uk.
