All those possums who have been following the adventures of the glamorous Dame Edna Everage over the decades may well feel tears welling in their eyes at the news that her creator, Barry Humphries, is currently performing his farewell tour.
The show, Eat Pray Laugh!, will run at Milton Keynes Theatre from Wednesday, October 23 until Saturday, October 26, marking just part of Barry’s world tour.
Barry, whose alter egos include inebriated cultural attache, The Honorable Sir Les Patterson, the grandfatherly Sandy Stone and legendary housewife, Dame Edna Everage, said: “So, Possums, please do come and say goodbye to me. It would be lovely to see your faces for the last time.”
During the all-singing, all-dancing spectacular, Dame Edna promises to empower audiences as she meditates on the big issues.
She said: “You will see me at the height of my powers, taking you on a wonderful spiritual journey.”
Act one of Eat Pray Laugh! features Sir Les and Sandy Stone, before Dame Edna explodes on to the stage with an outrageous act two.
Shows will take place at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm show on the Saturday. Tickets cost £17.90 to £80.90. See www. atgtickets.com
