Comedian Lucy Porter will be bringing a touch of “Northern Soul” to the Masque Theatre in Barton Seagrave next week when she stops off as part of her latest tour.
A familiar face from TV and radio panel shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week and The Unbelievable Truth, Lucy has made her return to the tour circuit with her show, Northern Soul.
A spokesman said: “Does geography shape your destiny? Fringe favourite Lucy Porter’s latest (and greatest) show is about never quite knowing where you belong.
“Born in Croydon to a Northern Irish dad and a Midlander mum (who met in Africa), Lucy never felt comfortable as a South London suburbanite.
“In her teenage years she was seduced by the music of Morrissey, the art of David Hockney and the politics of Dennis Skinner.
“Then she was seduced by the kissing of an actual man from Bury, and she started to suspect that the north of England might be her spiritual home.”
The show will be held on Thursday, February 27, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12 or £10 for concessions. To book, see the theatre’s website www.masquekettering.co.uk. The venue can be found at The Latimer Arts College in Castle Way.
