Comedian Jim Tavare and his trusty double bass will be on hand to entertain crowds at Barton Seagrave’s Masque Theatre tomorrow.
In one of very few UK appearances this year, the USA-based stand-up talent will be heading to Kettering for a one-night only performance.
A spokesman said: “Jim is an internationally acclaimed actor and comedian with a highly distinguished career.
“Jim co-wrote and starred in ITV’s The Sketch Show, which won a Bafta award, and he wrote and starred in six acclaimed short silent films for BBC television, called Jim Tavare Pictures Presents.
“This was followed by his own comedy sketch series, The Jim Tavare Show, a 13-part TV series co-written with Ricky Gervais, who also starred.”
Following three appearances on The Royal Variety Performance, Jim performed at several private functions for the British Royal family, including a private Christmas party for Prince Charles and a gala held at Highgrove for the Queen and 13 crowned heads of state. Jim is renowned for being Prince Charles’ favourite comedian.
He has taken part in Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and embarked on a 63-date national US tour with NBC as part of the Last Comic Standing World Tour.
He made his major film debut when he played Tom the innkeeper in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The show will start at 8pm and tickets cost £10.
The venue is in Castle Way, Barton Seagrave. To book tickets call 01536 414141 or visit the theatre’s website, which can be found at www.masquekettering.co.uk.
