A bitter-sweet comedy about a son who returns home to teach his dad to cook, after the death of his mother, will be performed at The Castle theatre in Wellingborough next week.
Dave Lee’s dad Pete is the sort of man who needs a recipe for toast, who thinks that tortilla fought King Kong and that tiramisu played midfield for Brazil in the 1974 World Cup.
He is good at Subbuteo and hopeless with spaghetti. In this play, Dave and his dad set to the task of mastering the art of cookery, in a bid to save Pete from a diet of pickled beetroot and jam sandwiches. But can their relationship survive?
Tickets for Me & My Dad cost £12.50 or £10.50. To book or for more info, ring 01933 270007 or visit www.thecastle.org.uk.
The play will be staged on Tuesday at 7.45pm.
