A magical musical about weddings, wombats and the loveliest elephant the world has ever known will be performed at The Castle theatre in Wellingborough on Saturday.

Based on a story from the bestselling book How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales, The Elephant Bridesmaid is a show said to be a balance of games, songs and heartwarming elephant antics.

A spokesman said: “Join Nessie the Elephant and her fantastic animal friends and help them as they go in search of an outfit fancy enough (and large enough) to make her the Australian jungle’s first and most beautiful elephant bridesmaid.

“As an extra treat, popular children’s author Steven Lee will be available to sign copies of his book How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales, which will be on sale at a specially reduced rate after the show.”

The Elephant Bridesmaid is suitable for children aged four and over.

Tickets cost £8.50 or £6.50 and can be purchased by calling the box office on 01933 270007 or visiting www.thecastle.org.uk for more information.

Performances will take place at 11am and 2pm.
