An interactive show for small children all about the things beneath our feet is coming to two theatres in the region next week.

Grass is coming to The Core at Corby Cube on Tuesday and The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough on Wednesday.

The show for children aged two and above is designed to be quirky and interactive.

Grass wants children to explore the ground and all of its wriggling inhabitants with a show featuring worms, slugs, snails, spontaneous outbreaks of ant dancing and plenty of obscure insect-related facts.

Through the use of performance, puppetry and projection, Grass aims to inspire children to look closely at the world around them, to get mucky and play.

Second Hand Dance, who are putting on the show, is a collaborative company, creatively led by Rosie Heafford, which works with artists from a variety of disciplines to produce participatory and interactive dance experiences.

They strive to create extraordinary and surprising dance works for everyone to enjoy in any space including theatres, libraries and parks.

Grass will liven up the Lab at The Core on Tuesday March 29 at 11.30am recommended for ages two to four and 2pm recommended for ages four and above.

Tickets – priced £6.50 each – can be booked by calling the ticket office on 01536 470 470 or online at www.thecorecorby.com.

The performances at Wellingborough are at 11am and 2pm.

Tickets for this performance are priced £5 for adults and £7 for under 16s. There is entry for one adult free with every under 16 ticket purchased.

These can be purchased by calling the box office on 01933 270 007 or online at www.thecastle.org.uk.
