The Ultimate Rhythm and Blues 50th anniversary tour heads to Royal & Derngate tomorrow night.
The line-up features The Zombies, Animals & Friends, The Yardbirds, Spencer Davis and Maggie Bell.
Between them, they have had 37 hit records in the UK charts for more than 300 weeks.
The Zombies, led by Rod Argent on keyboards and Colin Blunstone on vocals, scored US hits in the mid and late 1960s with She’s Not There, Tell Her No, and Time of the Season.
Animals & Friends, featuring co-founder member John Steel and Micky Gallagher, are exemplified by the transatlantic hit The House Of The Rising Sun.
The Yardbirds were the bridge between the white R&B of early 1960s and the fuzz-toned psychedelia power-chorded heavy metal which followed.
The line-up on this tour sees Chris Dreja replaced by original guitarist, Top Topham. Completing the line-up are Spencer Davis – who created the legendary Spencer Davis Group in 1963 and Maggie Bell – often referred to over her career as ‘Britain’s Janis Joplin’.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost from £26.
