Rock ‘n’ roll legend Joe Brown returns to Royal & Derngate tomorrow night.

With his five-piece band including his son and record producer Pete Brown, he will be playing tracks from his new record, The Ukulele Album as well as his classics.

Dubbed the current ‘King of the Ukulele’, Brown was one of the very first artists to have a record banned by the BBC.

His version of the old George Formby song ‘With My Little Ukulele In My Hand’ was deemed way too risqué.

In 2002 he brought the house down as he closed The Concert For George with ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams.

In 2009, he launched his own Joe Brown ukulele Signature Series.

Brown also performs on electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo.

This show will incorporate his humorous reflections and stories.

Joe Brown plays on Friday, March 29.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £22.50 via 01604 624811 and www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
