Original rudeboy and member of The Specials, Fun Boy 3 and The Special Beat, Neville Staple brings his band to the Royal stage on Friday for a night of Two Tone classics, old school ska numbers and new material.
Best known as singer and toaster in Coventry legends The Specials, Neville Staple was one of the great figureheads of the late-70s British ska revival, at the centre of the scene’s best-loved band, alongside Terry Hall and Jerry Dammers.
The Specials had seven consecutive top 10 hits between 1979 and 1981, including Gangsters, A Message To You, Rudy, Too Much Too Young, and the era-defining Ghost Town.
Backed by his band, Neville will revisit the hits from his early career, as well as performing his own material and arrangements of his favourite old ska and calypso numbers. Support is by Flipron.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £20.
