The Great kNight Folk Club returns on Tuesday with a headline set by traditional folk and country act, Suntrap.
The band comprises of singer, guitarist, accordian bohdron and whistle player, Sarah Byers; violin and viola player, Elisa Bergensen; singer, guitarist and drummer, Paul Hoad; and singer and violinist, Mary Wilson.
Wilson and Byers met at Cecil Sharp’s, in Camden, in 1996 and joined forces singing Kate Bush and traditional folk songs before starting to write.
Hoad soon joined with guitars and voice and the trio became a quartet around the turn of the century, with Nicola Hilary, Debbie Chambers and then Elisa Bergensen.
Writing and arranging became a joint obsession with the tightly-knit group and a strong musical chemistry cooked up some cracking music.
The Great kNight Folk Club is on Tuesday, December 4, at The Old White Hart in Far Cotton, Northampton.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £8.
