The band is out on a UK tour and head to the Northampton venue on Thursday, December 3.

We Are Scientists are based around the core of guitarist and singer Keith Murray and bassist Chris Cain, with the duo usually being joined by touring additional live musicians.

After forming around the turn of the century, We Are Scientists broke through with their 2002 debut Safety, Fun, and Learning (In That Order).

However, it was its 2005 major label debut With Love and Squalor which spawned some of their biggest hits including It’s A Hit, Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt and The Great Escape.

Four more albums have followed since, including 2008’s Brain Thrust Mastery, 2010’s Barbara and last year’s TV En Francais.

In April the band released a reinterpretation of TV En Francais, entitled TV en Français, Sous la Mer which saw their indie rock sound swapped for something described by the band as sounding like songs had been “dipped in darkness, wrapped up in spider-web and dropped into a lake”.

The band last played the Roadmender in 2007.

We Are Scientists play the Northampton venue on Thursday, December 3.
