New Towcester venue to open with blues show

Towcester Live, a new live music venue in South Northamptonshire officially launches tomorrow night.

Legendary blues guitarist, Geoff Achison and Sam Kelly, one of the UK’s leading blues drummers, will lead the line-up.

Geoff features in Truefire’s ‘100+ Gifted Guitarists You Should Know’ and is stopping off in Towcester en route to his European tour.

He will play with Sam’s band, Station House, who have played with the likes of Robben Ford, Paul Jones and Imelda May.

The Blue Road, a three-piece, rocking blues band from south Northamptonshire will support and take to the stage at 8pm.

Sam Kelly was voted British Blues Connection Drummer of the Year for five years running and was recently named in Blues in Britain magazine’s Gallery of Greats.

Promoter Crispin Slee said: “It’s going to be an incredible night of blues. It is a rare treat to get Geoff and Sam on stage together.”
