Frenchmen Street Jazz Band make their Castle Theatre debut

Chris Pearce’s Frenchmen Street Jazz Band will make their Castle theatre debut with an evening of traditional jazz and the sound of New Orleans in Wellingborough next week.

The band formed in 2002 after Chris Pearce’s first trip to New Orleans, where he stayed above the famous Snug Harbour Jazz Club in Frenchman Street.

The line-up features Chris Pearce on clarinet & sax, Tony Pipkin on trumpet, Richard Leach on trombone, Roger Davis on double bass, Phil Probert on banjo and guitar, and Graham Smith on drums.

Tickets for the evening of trad jazz next Thursday (8pm) cost £12.50 in advance.
