Jazz musician Courtney Pine will be the headline act at this year’s Oundle International Festival’s jazz gala.
The Picnic in the Park event, taking place on Saturday, July 13 at Boughton House, is celebrating a quarter of a century by welcoming the internationally acclaimed artist.
Parisian Jazz specialist Tina May and Northamptonshire’s Youth Big Band will also play.
Pine will play tracks from his critically acclaimed album, House of Legends, with the Jazzwise album of the year 2012 winner also performing an exhilarating mix of Merengue, Ska, Mento and Calyso.
Pine said: “I am so happy to be a part of this festival not just because I am headlining but it is an opportunity for fans of jazz, locals and all to celebrate music performed live in a fantastic open air venue.”
There will also be a selection of gourmet food stalls along with a real ale marquee. Children’s entertainment will be provided and the concert will close with a spectacular fireworks display.
Andrew Forbes, Artistic Director of Oundle International Festival and Oundle Music Trust, said: “Oundle Music Festival has been an important social event on the calendar for the past 25 years and we are delighted to be hosting it this year at the spectacular Boughton House.
“Courtney Pine and Tina May are incredible jazz efficionados, guaranteed to entertain the crowds, and we also look forward to inviting the county’s Youth Big Band who are sure to inject a strong dose of Northamptonshire spirit.”
Tickets for the gala cost £23.50, with children under 16 admitted for free.
