Courtney Pine will playing an exhilarating mix of merengue, ska, mento and calypso at The Castle Theatre this weekend.
No musician more embodies the dramatic transformation in the British jazz scene over the past 20 than Courtney.
The ground-breaking, multi-instrumentalist has led a generation of players who have broadened their styles to take jazz out to a wider audience.
His 15th album, House of Legends, saw him return to the saxophone, the instrument he’s best known for, and features his soprano sax for the first time.
The line-up features Robert Fordjour on drums, Vidal Montgomery on double bass, Cameron Pierre and Chris Cobsson on guitars, Samuel Dubois on steel pan and Pine on soprano saxophone.
Courtney Pine plays the Wellingborough venue on Saturday, April 26. Door open at 7.30pm.
Tickets costs £22 by calling 01933 270 007 or online at www.thecastle.org.uk
