With winter looming, this is always a busy time for concerts in Northamptonshire’s musical calendar and there is plenty of choice on offer to tempt people out of their homes on cold evenings.

There will be a full programme of classical music, as well as pop, contemporary and songs from the shows, at a concert taking place at St Mary’s Church in Rushden on Saturday, November 30 at 7.30pm.

The concert will be performed by Sound Sensation (part of the KOS Musical Theatre Company). Tickets cost £7 or £5, including a glass of wine and nibbles. Ring 01933 652222 or 01604 630319.

Also on Saturday, November 30, Kettering Symphony Orchestra will stage a concert of music by Strauss, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. The Winter Concert will be held at the Masque Theatre, Latimer Arts College, Castle Way, Barton Seagrave, at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 or £4 for students aged 12 and over. Under 12s go free but must be booked in with a paying adult. Ring 01536 737737.

Lastly, a bit of advanced notice about a ‘Festive Winter’s Evening with Brackley Chamber Music Club.’ The club will be presenting a concert peppered with entertaining, festive readings. There will also be a chance to enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies.
