There are some beautiful Northamptonshire settings being used to stage classical concerts in the coming days and weeks.
Fiori Musicali is one local group known for providing music in beautiful settings. And this Sunday will be no exception as the group will return to the church of St Mary Magdalene at Castle Ashby.
This year is Fiori’s 30th anniversary and to celebrate, the Fiori Chamber Orchestra will perform Bach’s Concerto in D Minor for two violins. Also included in the programme will be a rarely-heard concerto for recorder and viola da gamba by Telemann. The concert will begin at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20. Discounts available. The City of London Chamber Orchestra will be giving a concert tomorrow at Dingley Church, starting at 7.30pm. The programme will include Haydn’s symphonies No 76 and 77, and Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, featuring harpist Lucy Wakeford. Tickets costing £23 are available on the door or call 01536 515087.
Also, a reminder that an evening of music will be provided by Brackley Chamber Music Club at Stowe House tomorrow from 7pm. Tickets cost £7.50, including wine and canapes. Pre-booking for the concert is essential. Contact 01280 818002.
