Sometimes beautiful locations can really help to set the scene when it comes to listening to classical music.
Next week, audiences will have the chance to enjoy both music and scenery when Brackley Chamber Music Club holds a concert in the State Music Room at Stowe House.
The programme of music for the event on July 26, at 7pm, will include pieces by Purcell, Beethoven, Elgar and many others. There will also be a selection of summer readings. Tickets cost £7.50, including wine and canapes. Call 01280 818002.
Also, a reminder to all Mozart fans that All Saints Church in Northampton will be staging a concert tomorrow, made up entirely of music by this composer.
The programme is set to include the Elvira Madigan Piano Concerto, performed by Stephen Meakins. The Concerto for Flute and Harp will also be performed by Jenny Dyson on flute and Felicity Orme on harp. Music will start at 7pm. Lastly, there is still a chance to enjoy the Oundle International Festival. Today, Becky Taylor, who won the coveted Musician of the Year title at the Oundle Music and Drama Festival, will perform pieces by Bach, Mozart, Dvorak and Stravinsky, on the violin.
