Blockheads back to headline Northampton venue

The Blockheads are out the road touring across the Uk and head to Northampton to headline the Roadmender on Saturday.

Originally formed in 1977 to promote Ian Dury’s album New Boots and Panties, the band is now fronted by Derek Hussey.

The legendary funksters will be playing a mix of newer tracks alongside old favourites such as What A Waste, Sex & Drugs & Rock and Roll, Reasons To Be Cheerful and the hit single Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.

They released their latest album Same Horse Different Jockey in 2013 with their 2010 film, Sex and Drugs and Rock & Roll, documenting Dury’s life, helping to introduce a new generation to the band.

Hussey is joined in The Blockheads by Gilad Atzmon, Mick Gallagher, Chaz Jankel, John Roberts, John Turnbull andNorman Watt-Roy.

They play the Northampton venue on Saturday, November 12.
