Alexander Shelley leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in an evening of classics at Royal & Derngate on Sunday.
Conductor Alexander Shelley has firmly established himself on the international concert scene and makes a welcome return to the RPO for the show.
Opening the concert is the Romeo And Juliet Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky.
This will be followed by Rachmaninov’s well-loved set of variations for piano and orchestra, Rhapsody On A Theme Of Paganini.
The evening concludes with Scheherazade, a series of musical tales drawn from The Arabian Nights, which remains Rimsky-Korsakov’s best-loved work.
There is a pre-concert talk at 6.30pm, with Alexander Shelley and piano soloist, Peter Jablonski, which is free to ticket-holders. The show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost from £14 to £32.50, with tickets for people under 26-years-old costing £11. To book, call 01604 624811 .
