The Kontra Roots Club returns tomorrow night with a headline set by Ady Johnson.
The singer songwriter fronted a rock ’n’ roll band for some years before embarking on a successful solo acoustic career
With instantly catchy songs, deft guitar work and a gritty voice reminiscent of Steve Marriott, Ady released his first solo CD last year to rave reviews and national airplay.
Support is by Stella Hensley and Chris Newman.
Renowned vocalist and songwriter Hensley teamed up with veteran blues, slide and ragtime guitarist, Chris Newman, and the pair’s debut album received top reviews.
Making up the bill are accomplished folk duo, Two Coats Colder.
Anna and Ray perform a diverse mix of traditional and contemporary songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
Kontra is at Kennedy’s Bar at the Tower Sports Ground, Irthlingborough Road, in Finedon. The club starts at 8pm and admission is free.
