More than 20 acts will take to the Roadmender stage on Saturday for The Factory festival.
The event is being run by the Y Factor, who have previously held annual competitions to to promote young musical talent in Northamptonshire.
A spokesman said: “This annual festival was born of our wish to step from the simple ‘showcase’ opportunity of our monthly events and bring in a competitive element for our musicians and an epic night for our audiences.”
Each act will get 15 minutes on stage, with performances taking place at the same time across the venue.
Acts will only have five minutes during their set when they are the only ones playing.
Judges and audience members will circulate the venue looking for their favourites.
Acts playing include Anna Bassett, Arc Noir, Behind Closed Doors, Building Skylines, Carly Loasby, Destined To Kill, Flyboi, The Hitch-Hikers, Jack Foster, James JR Pitman, Katie Rutter, Kelly Barnes, Leah Jaggs, Leo Robinson, The Naked Spoons, Nathan Patrick Music, Poppy & Eloïse, Rhys Gradwell, Robyn Wilson, Another Summer, The Wise Old Owls and Yoshe.
