The Matt Ridley Trio will be joined by saxophonist Brandon Allen for a night of creative jazz at The Core on Friday, May 9.
Since graduating from Trinity College of Music in 2005, Ridley has established himself as one of the most versatile and creative bass players on the UK scene.
The trio released their debut album Thymos at the end of last year.
Their music reflects Ridley’s experience in jazz with the spheres of world music, 20th century minimalist music and pop. Australian tenor sax player Allen has played with the likes of Eric Clapton, Mica Paris and Jools Holland.
The trio and Allen play on Friday, May 9. Doors open at 7.45pm.
Support is by young local musicians who have taken part in The New Sound Sessions workshops with Ridley.
