Law, sass and music combine in a heady way as Kilworth House Theatre gets ready to welcome Legally Blonde the Musical later this month.

The award-winning musical can be seen from Thursday, August 20 to Sunday, September 20.

It is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the hit 2001 movie, which starred Reese Witherspoon.

The musical is an all-singing, all-dancing romantic comedy about knowing who you are and showing what you’ve got!

It tells the story of the perennially perky University student, Elle Woods.

She is a girl who loves to be pampered and to shop for the latest all-pink outfits and matching handbags.

However, this seemingly ditsy sorority sister is smarter than she seems and when her boyfriend, Warner Huntingdon III, dumps her for someone more serious, Elle sets out to win him back .

She puts down the credit cards and hits the books.

Ready to revamp her image and determined to win back her man, Elle goes where no Delta Nu sorority girl has gone before and follows Warner to Harvard Law School.

The cast which has been put together just for this show features stars of the West End stage including Jennifer Harding taking the lead role of Elle and Luke Newton playing the love interest, Warner.

Emmet is played by Greg Miller Burns while Jodie Jacobs and Graham Vick plays the role of Paulette and Callaghan respectively.

Producer Celia Mackay is joined once again by director and choreographer Mitch Sebastian with musical director John Morton, set and costume designer Philip Witcomb, lighting designer Michael Odam and sound designer Chris Whybrow completing the creative team on the show.

The show is the winner of seven major awards including the much-coveted best musical 2011 at the Olivier awards.

Evening performances of the show start at 7.30pm with matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday starting at 2.30pm. There is no shows on a Monday.

Tickets for the show cost between £30 and £38 and can be booked by calling the box office on 01858 881939 or by visiting www.kilworthhousetheatre.co.uk.
