Scottish songstress Eddi Reader headlines The Core in Corby tonight.
Starting off as a busker in her native Glasgow, Eddi shot to stardom as part of the band Fairground Attraction.
The band’s single Perfect, from the album First Of A Million Kisses, topped the charts in 1988.
Its successor, Ay Fond Kiss, was released in 1990 following the band’s demise.
Reader has gone on to record a number of solo albums, the most recent being Vagabond, which was released in February this year.
Next month, she is due to release the new five-song EP, Back The Dogs.
The EP features four cover versions alongside the studio track from her recent LP.
Reader will be joined by her band, which includes Irish accordionist Alan Kelly, guitarist and singer John Douglas, bassist Kevin McGuire and guitarist Boo Hewerdine.
This year Reader has performed with Jools Holland and at the Cambridge Folk Festival as well as appearing on Question Time and Terry Wogan and Andrew Marr’s shows.
Her music was also used in the closing credits for this summer’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £24.50 before booking fees. They are available in advance by calling 01536 470470 or online at www.thecorecorby.com
