Big crowds turned up to watch the annual St George’s Day parade in Rushden on Saturday, April 20.
The event, organised by Rushden Town Council, featured Maypole dancing from Alfred Street Junior School, the Waterloo Drummers marching band, a Chas and Dave tribute band as well as a host of activities for youngsters and the now famous Rushden dragon.
Representatives from Nene Valley District Scouts also played a prominent part in the celebration of England’s national day, which this year falls on Tuesday, April 23.
“Everyone is enjoying the day and the sunshine,” said Cllr Marian Hollomon, the mayor of Rushden.
“Everybody loves it and the shops all take part as well.”
