Big names including The Chuckle Brothers, Fireman Sam and the Strictly Come Dancing couple James and Ola Jordan are to appear at the Lighthouse Theatre this spring and early summer.
The Kettering theatre has released its new programme, which also includes shows by magician Paul Daniels, singer Charlie Landsborough, band The Unthanks and comedians who have appeared on television shows including Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
Theatre manager Lucy Hatfield said: “We’ve got some really good names. The Lighthouse Theatre is three-years-old and each year we try to put on bigger names and respond to what our audience wants to see.
“James and Ola are so recognisable from Strictly, we are calling them the most glamourous couple from Strictly. If people see them live, it will be amazing.
“Tickets are selling fast for Fireman Sam already because the television show is still so popular. It’s a really nice story, it’s fun and kids love coming to see that character.”
Miss Hatfield said other notable acts included two Live@The Lighthouse comedy nights.
The first will take place on Friday, March 23, and will feature comedians Holly Walsh, Ben Norris, Gary Delaney, Sean Hughes and Tom Deacon, who is also a BBC Radio 1 DJ.
The second will be a special ladies night on Friday, June 8, to raise cash for the Crazy Hats Breast Cancer Appeal. The night will feature female comedians, including Isy Suttie, known by many as Dobby in Channel 4’s Peep Show.
Miss Hatfield said: “We have been doing Live@The Lighthouse for a couple of years, they go really well and usually sell out. They have got a bit of a following now.”
Other attractions will include The Unthanks on May 6, Fiddler on the Roof presented by Kettering Operatic Society in April, World Parade by Starlight Dance on May 5 and Science Museum Live! on March 10 which will bring experiments from the London museum to the stage.
