Buy the highest capacity memory card you can afford for your camera – prices are very reasonable at the moment.
And always use your camera at its highest megapixel setting and highest quality compression setting.
You may find you have shot a fabulous award-winning image, but because you had your camera set to its lowest quality setting, you can only print a low-quality postcard size image when you really want to print an enlargement for your wall.
If you upload your images to a computer, go through them at the time you transfer them, and delete any images you are not happy with.
This way you won’t have thousands of images to plough through when you are looking for a particular picture.
