Spree absolutely loves this time of year when it comes to fashion and that’s because we can start to put away all our muted, dark coloured winter clothing and instead embrace the more colourful and vibrant trends that the warmer months bring.

And this year is no exception, as the shops are full of wonderfully bright colours, but which are the key ones to be seen in?

Kat Jones, owner of Unorthodox Boutique in Silver Street, Wellingborough, said: “This season it really is the brighter the better when it comes to colour.

“Coloured jeans are in again which harks back to the ’80s so if you like the retro look, that could be the garment for you.”

Celebrities including Cheryl Cole, Sarah Jessica Parker and Khloe Kardashian have all been spotted wearing bright red jeans making them potentially the most popular shade to buy.

There’s a lot of red around on the High Street in general this season so if you don’t feel comfortable sporting it in jean form and would prefer to stick to traditional black or blue, you can find plenty of tops, jackets, cardigans and dresses in showstopping red.

Kat added: “There is a lot of white around which is a staple for summer but there’s always the fear of spilling something on it so if you don’t want to go the whole hog, there is also a lot of off-white, cream and pale grey tones around that feed into the vintage look that is happening this season.”

Other colours to watch out for this season are:

Cobalt blue: This shade of blue is really electrifying and Spree has seen a lot of it around on the High Street, particularly in block colour maxi dresses or the key colour in a graphic print.

Demi Moore and Dita Von Teese are just two celebrities who have been clocked wearing the colour on the red carpet recently.

Yellow/lemon: Always associated with spring and summer, lemon and yellow tones look fresh as a daisy.

Yellow is very versatile as a colour to combine with others, it goes well with blues, browns, blacks and greys.

Coral: This colour in particular is a big deal this year, and it doesn’t just fit one specific shade.

Coral is a gorgeous blend of hues, from a pinkish hue to a brighter orange. Coral adds a feminine touch to an outfit and can be worn with dark or neutral colours.

It really is everywhere this season, from dresses and bags, to rings and shoes so add as much or as little as you want to your wardrobe.
