An author from Rushden was on hand at a county library to sign copies of her debut thriller.
Jess Sturman-Coombs, 34, published her book Poker Face at a launch party in November last year.
The thriller is the first of a series of four books and has already sold 150 copies.
In a bid to sell more copies and earn a publishing contract to realease the remaining three books, Mrs Sturman-Coombs held the book-signing day at Wellingborough Library on March 3.
She said: “The event proved a good way of getting my name out there and people interested in the book.
“Once they read it I hope they want to read the next in the series.”
The full-time mother wrote all four books in the series over two years.
The books follow the life of a young woman who becomes involved in the Mafia.
After leaving school with no qualifications she lands herself a job with her town firm.
But soon she finds her boss is connected to underground crime and becomes involved herself.
