An illustrator from Raunds has teamed up with a semi-retired teacher to publish a book to encourage children to read.
Tamsin Edwards illustrated Tales of Two Shires, written by Jinny Casey, who lives in Yelden, Bedfordshire. The tales incorporate real local places and events. Jinny hopes that after children have read the stories they will be inspired to visit and discover the places mentioned for themselves.
Jinny also hopes to raise money for her favourite charity, Children in Need, and is donating £1 to the charity for every book sold.
Tales of Two Shires is on sale at £6.99 and further information can be found at www.facebook.com/talesoftwoshiresbook.
Copies are currently for sale at The Chequers public House in Yelden during normal opening hours
Tamsin Edwards will exhibiting her latest artwork, including some of the book illustrations, at Chichele College in Higham Ferrers on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, where copies of the book will be available to buy. The exhibition is free to enter and is open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
