Children at a school in Wellingborough designed their own versions of the Olympic and Paralympic mascots.
Every pupil at Oakway Junior School, in Cherry Avenue, and several members of staff took part in the activity and designed a mascot.
The finished articles were put on display at the school on Tuesday and three winning pupils were chosen yesterday.
The school’s deputy headteacher Clare Wallace said pupils had designed their mascots to reflect their own personalities and lives.
She said: “We are an Olympic Get Set School and as part of that we have promised to live the Olympic and Paralympic values throughout the year.
“We do various activities throughout the school and this is one of them.
“The idea was to make the mascot reflect themselves as a person, perhaps their interests, their family or their community.
“There were some really good ones.
“They were outstanding, the children put in a lot of effort and they were very original.
“We were really happy with the results.”
