The people of Corby will get to help decide what idea is turned into The Core’s 2016 musical at a special performance event in May.
Ideas in development for Made in Corby’s 2016 musical are to be performed and judged at an afternoon performance event held at The Core from 2.30pm to 5pm on Saturday, May 9.
Four writing teams have been working on ideas since January after a brief was developed by Corby people and Perfect Pitch, the company commissioned by Made in Corby.
The 2016 musical is Made in Corby’s third major Big Night Out commission in a three-year programme funded by Arts Council England.
The final musical will be performed at The Core at Corby Cube in October 2016.
Perfect Pitch director Andy Barnes said: “This will be an exciting afternoon event. We’re inviting the people of Corby to see what’s been developed so far and to tell us which of the four ideas they would like to see become a full musical. This is a chance for Corby people to have their say.”
Marketing and audience development officer for Made in Corby Marian Anderson said: “We want to hear from the Corby audience on the day. Perfect Pitch, professional musical experts and the producing committee of local people will then decide which is the best idea to be taken forward. As well as professionals bringing ideas to life, there will also be bonus performances by local groups.”
All tickets are £5 from the ticket office on 01536 470 470, or at www.thecorecorby.com.
