Wellingborough will be hoping they can keep on springing surprises as their National Colts Cup campaign heads to Herefordshire this weekend.
The Cut Throat Lane youngsters travel to Luctonians for their quarter-final clash.
The hosts’ first-team currently sit mid-table in National Two North compared to Boro’s status in Midlands Two.
But it is not only their opponents they are hoping to shock.
As Colts coach Steve Mackie admits, there are plenty within the Wellingborough club who have been taken aback by their impressive youth side.
“They keep surprising us,” Mackie said. “We didn’t expect to get this far so every game is a bonus for us.
“The lads are fairly excited but also quite nervous at the same time.
“So it is important for us to treat it the same as every other game.
“As was the case in previous rounds, we know absolutely nothing about Luctonians.
“But we won’t worry about them – we’ll let them worry about us.
“We’ll continue to play our style of rugby and hopefully we can cause another surprise.”
