S&L back on form in fine style

S&L got back to winning ways in Midlands Three East (South) with a six-try rout of high-flying Rugby St Andrews.

Chris Jones gave S&L an early lead with a penalty before Andrews hit back with a converted try.

Good pressure up front from the Corby side created a try for Milan Crooks which Jones converted.

But again, Saints came back with a converted score of their own to regain the lead.

But S&L then stepped up a gear and some fine play resulted in tries for Gareth Lewis and a second for Crooks, both converted by Jones to give them a 24-14 half-time lead.

S&L continued to impress after the break and Jones scored and converted their fifth try.

The best was saved until last as Crooks sent Matt Fleming clear to race the length of the field to score.

Jones’ conversion wrapped up a superb win for the hosts.
