Jim Mallinder paid tribute to the players leaving Saints this summer after the club officially announced which men would be moving on.

Many of the departures were expected with the likes of Soane Tonga’uiha and Brian Mujati heading for pastures new.

The influential props will join Racing Metro this summer having made a huge impression during their time at Franklin’s Gardens.

Other players such as Ryan Lamb, who is off to Leicester, and Martin Roberts, who is Bath-bound, have also proved to be important squad members.

And Mallinder said: “If a team is to succeed every player in the squad has to contribute. Everyone in the squad has done this during the season, whether playing for the first or second teams, in training or in analysis and team meetings.

“On behalf of the rest of the coaching team I’d like to thank the players who are leaving for what they’ve done in their time at the Saints, and wish them the best for the future.”

Confirmed departures: Paul Doran-Jones (Harlequins), Ryan Lamb (Leicester), Brian Mujati (Racing Metro), Soane Tonga’uiha (Racing Metro), Martin Roberts (Bath), Mark Sorenson (Bristol), Rhys Oakley (Plymouth Albion), Tom May and Scott Armstrong (not disclosed).
