JIM MALLINDER has confirmed James Craig, Jamie Elliott and Sam Dickinson will join Courtney Lawes and Calum Clark on the sidelines for Saints’ Aviva Premiership opener at Gloucester on Saturday.

Flanker Craig is ruled out with a knee injury sustained during pre-season training, while wing Elliott continues to recover from a hamstring problem.

Lawes is out after having surgery on an elbow injury picked up during his side’s preparations for the new campaign, while Clark is suspended until November 2.

New signing Dickinson, who joined from Rotherham this summer, is not yet fit enough to make an appearance due to an arm injury.

“Courtney Lawes is still a few weeks off as is James Craig, and Calum Clark as we know will be back early November,” said Mallinder.

“Jamie Elliott is also still recovering from a hamstring injury which he picked up a few weeks ago and Sam Dickinson is progressing well. Apart from that we’re at full strength.”
