Things have had a bit of shake-up at Oundle ahead of the new season.
They embark on a new Midlands Four East (South) campaign with their former coach Peter Croot back in control at Occupation Road.
He is heading a coaching team that includes Phil Sammons from the Peterborough Rugby Development Centre and former Kettering and S&L man Will Griffiths who will be player-coach.
And Croot has a simple aim: “I want to finish off the playing plans I made for the club way back in 2004.
“At that time we were deciding to whether to remain in the leagues or not and the club has come a long way since then.
“We have three pitches, a new club house and a growing membership.
“Oundle always has a good reputation for providing talented youngsters and with that in mind it is now time to finally make that pay off at first XV level.
“That’s why I have stepped back into the main chair for coaching this year.”
Croot is also excited by the team he has on and off the field.
He added: “Phil and Will both add a fresh look to the club and I am excited about what they will bring to give us a winning edge.
“More importantly the players appreciate them and what they are adding.
“I realise that success is not going to be instant but I have a good crop of youngsters to build a winning side around.
“Skipper Joe Rice will continue to lead the players on the pitch and I am hoping we can attract some more experienced leaders to share our vision and really build a complete squad.”
“Last year our key players like prop Will Parker, versatile Nick Cobley, and second rows Tom Laxton and Eddie King really became forces in this league and I want to recruit to boost their contribution.
“We also have a successful under-17s coming forward into senior rugby after reaching the last 16 of the national competition last year which gives a lot of hope for a long period of time.”
The season kicks off this Saturday with a squad trial game at Bedford Swifts and the Colts at home to Olney.
