Saints prop Alex Corbisiero will not be considered for England’s summer tour of New Zealand.

Corbisiero is set to return to action against Wasps this weekend, having not played since injuring his knee in England’s game against Argentina in November.

He has not played for his club since October, but has been working hard to get back to full fitness.

And though he is now ready to return, Stuart Lancaster won’t select the player in his party for the three-Test tour.

“Alex has worked really hard to come back before the end of the season but he will not have played enough rugby for him to be considered for such a tour,” said the England boss.

Leicester’s Tom Youngs will also miss the trip as he remains at home to support his wife, who requires treatment for an illness.

Youngs’ Tigers team-mate Tom Croft, who is set to return from injury against Saracens this weekend, Wasps wing Christian Wade and Exeter’s Jack Nowell will also miss out.
