Wellingborough rugby club have recruited the services of two former players in their bid to avoid relegation.
Ex-club captain Pete Vickers returns having spent the last few seasons playing National League rugby with Ampthill and Southend while front-row forward Kev Osborne also comes back to the club after a spell with Kettering.
The Cut Throat Lane side will need all the help they can get from the two experienced performers if they are to overcome the 15-point deduction they suffered which leaves them in big trouble in Midlands Two East (South).
Coach George Shipman said: “These two are Wellingborough players who for different reasons have played their rugby at different clubs over the last few seasons.
“But ever since I became director of rugby I have been in touch with these players to see if there was ever an opportunity to get them back and we are fortunate that both their circumstances have changed and that they are now back with us.
“Both players will make an immediate impact and Pete will be starting at fly-half this weekend and Kev will be available hopefully the week after.
“I know they are keen to help ensure that we beat the drop and I am in no doubt that these two players will add to a squad that are capable of doing this.”
