Nelson is at it again on the roads

Five days after winning the Wellingborough 5 in his home town Stuart Nelson turned in another good performance on the roads.

He finished third in the Blisworth 5. The Rugby & Northampton AC runner came home in a time of 26.41 to finish ahead of Kettering based Damian Carr (Coventry Godiva Harriers) who took fourth in 27.03 in a race which saw Bedford & County’s Andrew Inskip win in 26.17 from Coventry Godiva’s James Griggs (26.30).

Top finisher for Wellingborough & District AC was Andrew Redden, who came 50th in 33.22 - the same time as Julian Blackwell who finished one place behind.

Other Wellingborough results were: 58 Julian Blackwell 34.01, 65 Shaun Cherry 34.35, 66 Edward Frain 34.40, 72 Christopher Jones 35.36, 80 Guy Wilford-Povey 36.04, 83 Mark Viccars 36.37, 90 Tony Hale 37.41, 110 Amos Hill 41.19, 114 Jason Sheridan 42.16, 116 Eamon Kennedy 42.47, 126 Dom Coleman 44.44, 141 Andy Manning 57.03 and 142 Israel Archuletta 57.03.

Performing well in the ladies race was Corby AC’s Jemma Anderson, whose time of 34.48 brought her home in seventh place in the race which saw Rosanna Andrews (Northampton Road Runners) win easily in 31.49 from Wootton Road Runner Victoria Ayliff (32.53) and Rugby & Northampton’s Maree Jesson (32.59).

Lorraine Kirk, who finished 37th in 44.39, led home the Wellingborough squad and was followed by 52 Natasha Wain 44.39, 53 Dawn Holloway 44.39, 58 Tracey Freear 46.28, 72 Nicola Manning 52.24, 73 Maria Hollis 52.25, 77 Mandy Crabb 52.12 and 78 Tracey Treadwell 53.37.
