Kettering snooker star Kyren Wilson suffered semi-final disappointment as he was knocked out of the 188Bet Champion of Champions event.

The 23-year-old had earned his place in the last four after winning Group Three in the tournament on Tuesday.

But he was beaten 6-3 by Mark Allen, who will take on Neil Robertson in the final at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow (Sunday).

Wilson, who this week was named Sportsman of the Year at the Northamptonshire Sports Awards, started well as a break of 51 helped him take the opening frame.

But Allen hit back with breaks of 61 and 80 to go 2-1 up and he then opened up a 3-1 lead when he won the fourth.

Wilson was facing an uphill task when Allen went 4-1 up but the Shanghai Masters champion battled back with breaks of 65 and 56 to make it 4-3.

However, Allen won the eighth frame and then wrapped up victory with a break of 88.
