Kyren Wilson begins his World Snooker Championship qualifying campaign in Sheffield tomorrow.
The 23-year-old from Kettering takes on Thailand’s Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon in a best-of-19-frames first-round encounter at Ponds Forge.
It is the first of three matches he needs to win if he is to book his place in the main event which starts a week on Saturday at the Crucible Theatre.
Wellingborough’s Rory McLeod already knows he will not be there.
He fell at the first hurdle when he was beaten 10-2 by China’s Tian Pengfei.
