Irthlingborough’s Kevin McDine will take on current PDC world champion Adrian Lewis in the third round of the Speedy Services UK Open tonight.

McDine won three successive matches at the Reebok Stadium on Thursday night and his reward will be a showdown with ‘Jackpot’ this evening in what is one of the eye-catching ties of the round.

Daventry’s Kevin ‘The Artist’ Painter will take on youngster Arron Monk tonight.

‘SupaMc’ was the first winner on a marathon night of darts as he wasted little time in beating Kirk Gordon 4-0 in the preliminary round.

McDine followed that up with an impressive 4-2 success over Steve Brown and that set up an all-Northamptonshire showdown with Daventry’s Matthew Edgar in the second round.

But it proved to be a one-sided affair as McDine wrapped up a 4-0 win to guarantee himself at least £1,000 in prize money.

However, it was a disappointing night for Rushden’s James Richardson as he suffered a 4-1 second-round defeat to Jim Walker on the main stage.
