Croyland Primary School in Wellingborough have become the first under-11 boys team from Northamptonshire to go forward to the national semi-finals.
They won the Northants Schools Association event in December and were the county representatives at the East Midlands finals of the English Schools Association competition held in Bedford.
In the group matches they beat Bedford Modern 7-1 and Riverside Middle of Mildenhall 6-2.
Croyland claimed a 7-1 win over Grantham’s Cliffedale Primary in the semi-final and then saw off Norwich’s Taverham Hall Prep 6-2.
Cameron Elliott and Rias Prescod did not lose a game, winning all their eight matches 3-0.
Leo Weaver also won all his matches. Twice he won games 11-0 and on another couple of occasions he came back from being 2-1 down to win 3-2.
New player Doyle Standishday won two of his eight matches.
The Croyland team will go to Grantham on February 26 to play in the English Schools semi-finals.
The team benefit from close links with the Westfield Club.
